Dr Michael Hayter

MBBS, GradDipHlthSci (Nutrition Medicine), FRACGP

Head Practitioner Medical Doctor and Nutritionist

Graduating from the University of NSW in 1989, Michael brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge gained from more than twenty years’ medical practice. Dr Hayter is renowned for his ability to consider each case in an evidence-based, analytical and compassionate manner. Every case is approached with a fresh outlook, carefully reviewing medical history, past pathology and diagnoses and performing further investigation to reveal the true underlying mechanisms behind one’s ill health. He is passionate about helping people live their best life. He regularly pursues ongoing professional training which has included study in nutrition, sleep medicine, lifestyle medicine and cardiovascular health. His academic work has included lecturing at Southern Cross University, developing postgraduate training webinars and examining medical students.

Dr Hayter is dedicated to bringing to his clients the best advice and treatment based on the very latest breakthroughs in health management and represented as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

 

Dr Dev Banerjee

MBChB, BSc Hons, MD, FRCP(UK), FRACP

Sleep Physician

Dr Dev Banerjee is the Ballina Health Centre Sleep physician and also currently a sleep specialist and the Medical Director of the University of Sydney Woolcock Institute Sleep facility in Glebe Sydney. He grew up in Leeds UK, graduating in Medicine in 1992. He underwent postgraduate medical education in Birmingham UK before spending over a year at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney 2003 – 2004. He went back to Birmingham to head sleep services before returning back to Sydney in 2013.

His specialist interests include the management of sleep apnoea, insomnia, hypersomnia, and sleepwalking. He also regularly appears on multiple TV and Radio shows, as part of medical documentaries on sleep disorders such as Embarrassing Bodies and BBC Breakfast TV (UK), Channel Seven Breakfast, Sky Business news, ABC “Ask the Doctor”, Channel Seven Live Well, ABC AM 702 and 2UE. He also regularly contributes to articles in the Huffington Post. Other interests include Corporate Health and runs clinics in the Sydney CBD.

 

Sonya (Barnes) Cacciotti  

BHSc, AdDipNat, GradDipHlthSci (Nutrition Medicine), GradDip (Sports Nutrition)

Registered Nutritionist and Naturopath

Supporting the comprehensive nutritional care offered by Ballina Health Centre, Mrs Sonya Cacciotti first began working with Dr Hayter in 1998 whilst in her second year of study and together they collaborate to offer a unique combination of lifestyle and medical treatment plans based on current evidence and their clinical experience.

Sonya’s passion for helping people find their optimal wellness was ignited during her studies, each qualification spurring her on to learn and apply more.  She holds a Health Science Degree majoring in Complementary Medicine and a Post Graduate Diploma of Health Science, Nutrition Medicine. She recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Nutrition through the International Olympic Committee and is an ISAK trained Level 1 Anthropometrist.

Her studies are complemented by extensive industry experience, including over 15 years of clinical and academic work both in Australia and the USA.

Jodi Gibbs 

Hypnotherapist, RTT, Healing Touch Practitioner, Counsellor

Jodi Gibbs is passionate about helping people overcome the blocks holding them back from having a truly fulfilling life. She has experience supporting people through grief, anxiety, trauma and depression and lack of purpose on their journey in life.

Over the past twenty years she has worked closely with people at all stages of their life. She understands how emotional issues can steal ones passion for life and create distress and a feeling of overwhelming helplessness. She also understands the need for privacy and to feel supported, respected and safe.

Using a multidisciplinary approach Jodi can help uncover the root cause of anxiety, depression and loss of direction.  She supports clients in understanding the limiting beliefs and self-destructive behaviours that can be holding them back from having a vibrant life and assists with advice to gain confidence, quickly and effectively.  Jodi has experience with clients working through issues regarding body image and ageing, sleeping, sitting for exams, going for a job interview, stopping smoking and over eating and developing the most important areas of life including self-belief, key relationships and career.
